  • Updated to Flex 4.6

Description

.sparta is an Adobe AIR based utility. It allows you to edit .mxi files and create new ones. It currently supports the majority of the MXI specification with the goal of supporting all of it.

I made this program because I was tired of all the half-assed MXI editing programs that were built with Flash MX 2004 and some random swf to exe program. I also tended to forget what options I had when creating an MXI for my own components. So I created .sparta, it has a (hopefully) intuitive interface and shows ALL the options MXI can support.

Features

  • Scalable UI
  • Drag-n-Drop support
  • Create MXI files
  • Edit MXI files
  • Auto-update capability
  • Tool-Tips describing every feature
  • Create mxi files for Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash

great work – do you think you will every put in functionality for creativng Photoshop MXI files?

I believe it should support Photoshop MXI files. Am I missing anything in particular? I used the MXI file format reference as a guide so it shouldn’t be specific to any one product.

You’re right. I probably should update this for CS4. I’ll get on this when I finish my updates to Flashbug. So many projects, so little time.

I’m trying to figure out where EXACTLY the Flash installation token points to. I mean it could point to the Programs/Adobe/Flash CSX/ directory or Users/userx/AppData/Local/Adobe/FlashCSX/ or it could point directly to the user’s configuration folder Users/userx/AppData/Local/Adobe/FlashCSX/langx/Configuration/.

Adobe sure don’t make this really intutive at all. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Never mind. I found my answer here: http://blog.flashgen.com/components/distribution/distribution-via-mxp/

You’d think this kind of stuff would be available directly through your product documentation.

I’ll consider adding that to .sparta, thanks! By the way, the official documentation doesn’t even specify what those tokens resolve to so I didn’t add them in.

Version of AIR, platform, and version of sprta you’re using? Kinda odd it’s been out since June and no one has mentioned that. Maybe it’s a recent update to AIR. Let me know

I’m using windows seven 64 last version of air and sparta, i found a workaround by creating empty mxi file, it seems sparta cannot create file but can modify it.
I found another problem, i’m actually creating an mxp for flash (CS3, CS4, CS5) so i add these 3 products with the appropriate tab, the problem is that installation of mxp work only with CS3, CS4 and CS5 tell product is not installed.
In mxi file :

You have to remove CS extension and it works fine :

Hope these help.
